Life is to be enjoyed. Although we spend many hours of our life working, what’s left must be spent resting and relaxing, being of service to others, and the like. The places all around Dubai have much to offer, both out in nature and those provided in Dubai’s infrastructure. Dubai as a world-class cosmopolitan city offers nearly as many activity choices as there are types of people.

Whether alone or in a group, any activity undertaken during spare hours should benefit either our mind or our body, not to mention, our heart and spirit. There are countless options as to where to go and what to do any given day in Dubai. Spending time fruitfully and enjoyably is not a problem since venue and activity options abound.

If you don’t feel like spending money for any activity, the Dubai Park is ideal for sightseeing, reading books, walking, running or playing sport. In one of Dubai’s public beaches, you may want to spend some time walking, running, sunbathing, picnicking or sleeping or simply lazing around on the sand. Or, you may instead opt to watch free night movies, and then do window shopping in any of Dubai’s many malls, not missing out on the lbn Battuta mall, in order to at the same time, learn history from the exhibits.

You may see a movie especially if there’s a good one showing, and then go to a coffee shop and read a book, or enroll to gain new knowledge or skill for growth and development. You may join a club to meet a new set of friends in the same field of interest as yours or render volunteer work somewhere for a worthy cause and serve the needs of the less fortunate, even just to hear them out. You can also walk or run along the beach to breathe early morning fresh air or watch a concert. At night, you can go bar hopping, listen to music in a lounge, or you may simply stay at home with your favorite DVD to entertain yourself.

For more exciting activities with a group, guided tours and excursions are the best. Going for a desert safari, seaplane tour, or balloon flight activities are a few options. Outdoor activities offer vast choices, including water sports and extreme sports. There are also fitness centers in Dubai worth spending time in for sports like Al Nasr Leisureland and Insportz Indoor Sports Club.
Listening to music of your choice is a very tempting option: go classical music or rock music. There are always performances for concert lovers available in the city.

Get updated on Dubai’s exciting events. The ones you should not miss are the Dubai Desert Challenge (Golf), Dubai Film Festival, Dubai Jazz Festival, Dubai Shopping Festival, Dubai Marathon, Duby Rugby Seven, Dubai Tennis Open, Dubai World Cup, GITEX, Jumana-Secret of the Desert, Conferences, Bastakia Souk Arts and Crafts Fair, and the Dubai Summer Surprise.

There are also clubs or groups of your favorites which you could join such as Bridge Clubs, Chess and Scrabble Clubs, and those of Dubai drums, Dubai singers, the Emirates Astronomical Society, the Emirates Philatelic Association, and sports clubs. Government-run sports clubs are, however, strictly for UAE nationals. Embassies have their own clubs for their nationals.
Other places to visit in Dubai include art galleries, museums, historical landmarks and many more. Among the most recommended ones are the following: the Dubai Museum, Dubai zoo, Jumeirah Mosque, Bastakia, wild wadi and souks such as the gold souk and the fish souk.

In the other emirates the favorites are: the Al Ain zoo, East Coast, Fujairah, Dreamland Water Park, Eye of the Emirates, Jebel Hafeet, Musandam Peninsula, Liwa Sands, Qanat Al Qasbah, Wadi Bih, and Ras Al Khaima.

Throughout the United Arab Emirates, you are free to practice your religion. Live your faith as you would while respecting theirs. The UAE is an Islamic country, but it accepts people of other religions to live and practice their own religion. Rulers of Dubai donated a land for worship and this is where to build Mosques and churches, including those for other religions such as Roman Catholic, Presbyterian, other Christian denominations, Greek Orthodox, Hindu temples, Sikh temple or Gurdawa.

Dubai provides many ways for people within the city to live life to its fullest, something which may not be so elsewhere in the Arab world.
