The transport system in UAE is quite good to go around the emirates. The job-searching period makes you familiar with the city. Public transport system is well developed and connected with all the important destinations and the inter-emirates bus service connects you with other emirates. Most common transport system in Dubai and Abudhabi is local taxi and bus. Bus charge is acceptable for any common person and taxis come with a fixed pickup charge and per kilometre rate. The smart card option or pass will allow you to board any bus with some percentage of discounts; the pass issued weekly and monthly from major bus stations. You can collect the bus timetable and route map from major bus stations and all the bus stops have the information of bus time and route.
 
Private parties offer illegal taxi service which charges less comparatively but you need to compromise on the safety and comfort. The creek side of Burdubai and Diera connected with waterbus and small boats. The airport taxi starts with a higher pickup rate and taxis are available for one-day hire too. Major car companies have booking centres in Airport and hotel. You can hire a car from major companies starting from $60 for a day.
 
Therefore, in the city limit, you can enjoy a well-connected transport system but when you decide to go out of the city, you have to depend on rental car or ready to pay for taxi. Car hire faculties are available in airport and hotels even you can get the details from any classifieds sections of leading newspapers. If you are international licence holder, you can drive in the country. Tourists from selected citizens can obtain a temporary drivers licence to drive in UAE. A valid national licence, passport and two passport-size photographs are required to obtain a temporary licence. Fully comprehensive insurance is essential. In the event of an accident, the police must be informed and a written police report obtained, otherwise the hire company’s insurance might not cover any damage. Drivers must be at least 21 years old and have held a full licence for one year. The age limit is often raised to 25 years, for more expensive models.
 
Road traffic is high in Dubai comparing to other emirates, Abu Dhabi also face traffic in the peak hours (morning and evening) rules and regulations are strictly monitored. Heavy fines are imposed for tariff violations and all the major roads are monitored by camera. So if you are new to UAE the road rules may confuse you so before hiring a car have a round trip in the city along with an experienced driver.
 
Car parks are charged in most of the areas in Dubai and Abu dhabi.
 
Opening of metro will ease the traffic conjunctions in Dubai. The metro works is completed and will soon open for public connecting in major destinations in Dubai.
