Government departments supporting HR in Dubai

In the Middle East particularly, Dubai remains to be one of the most attractive places for expatriate professionals for its competitive environment, stable economy and high pay in relation to the standard of living.

 

Though Dubai has recently just recovered from the global financial crisis, it is already showing signs of take off based on several indicators. First is that about 20% of the employees hired were obtained from the ads posted on UAE job sites. This means that at least 1 out of 5 new workers in Dubai were obtained through online means and there is a good chance that these people are from abroad. Secondly is the increase of HR qualifications and job postings and the strengthening of the main government departments supporting HR Dubai – the main being the Dubai Government Human Resources Department.

 

It was only recently established under Decree #31 of 2009. This action was meant to be part of the Dubai Strategic Plan – a long term plan that extends to 2015 and of course to counteract the effects of the recession. The purpose of this department is to develop and implement a multidisciplinary strategy by Dubai to strengthen the way human resources is practiced in the country. This is also meant to set up new ways, practices and standards for HR dubai. This action is meant to be beneficial to ALL entities that are operating in Dubai – whether foreign or local.

With the recent actions of Dubai, which has already garnered a reputation for being one of the finest workplaces in the world this is definitely a step that will encourage more foreign employment and therefore, a more global and seamless economy for it. The Dubai Government Human Resources Department, as now one of the strongest government departments supporting HR Dubai continually makes assessment and policies that better the general health of its corporate life. This makes way for more jobs, more pay and more security for the employees in Dubai.
