Dubai is just currently recovering from the global recession that left the main economic centers of the world devastated. The hiring rate right now in Dubai has never been better especially after the numerous layoffs in the recent years past. So what does that mean? If the hiring rate goes up what departments in the company work the hardest? The answer of course is the human resources department. When hiring goes up, HR goes busy. And so that also means that the number of people going for HR jobs Dubai is also going up. So if you are an HR practitioner looking for opportunities in the Middle East you might want to read on!

So what does it take to land a human resources job in Dubai? First, a few statistics: it is estimated that roughly 4 out of 5 individuals hired nowadays in Dubai are done through referrals. That means, that most of the work done would be through the old fashioned ways: know someone through your networks or get your head hunted. The other smaller percentage are landing that job online – but typically the offers are less attractive and the number of people who want the job would be more competitive. For those in entry level positions, expect a salary between 70000 to 100000 AED per year. For most people, that would be attractive salary especially in relation to the fairly attainable standard of living in Dubai.

Hold your horses though: getting to the most important part of this article, let’s talk about the qualifications. Typically, these are very simple. The usual proficiencies they are looking for would be good English (which probably accounts for the many Indians employed in the UAE), around 3-5 years experience in the industry and / or human resources with a similar practice and a working knowledge of typical HR tools such as MS Word, Excel and SAP.
