CENTER FOR CREATIVE THINKING
The Center for Creative Thinking (CCT) was established for the purpose of “identifying leadership talent in organizations, nurturing that talent, creating institutions where people find work enriching in every manner, and give of their best”. Its primary aim is “to develop leaders who leverage intellectual capital such that everyone wins – customers, employees, communities, and suppliers”.
 
The CCT believes that information is power if one knows how to use it and that such is the green light for success. The action that is taken as a result of the information on one’s hands is the key to success. But it would have to be the right action. The same is true whether for individuals or for companies. There are basic things, for instance, that companies must learn to do very well in order to thrive amidst changing conditions according to an IMD study. Here is an excerpt of that study zeroing in on those five imperatives:
- Think strategically on a global basis
- Manage partnerships effectively
- Staff effectively through expatriation and localization
- Manage the learning process
- Adapt the organization structure to shifting needs
 
The environment on which organizations now exist has become multicultural and direction setting for all organizations, including those yet small, is increasingly becoming global. The faster the organization gets to adapt, the better chances it has for coping and competing. In these modern times, the saying “shape up or you get shipped out” is carving out a very glaring reality. Going global is now the name of the game. Thus the CCT has designed its programs to equip its client organizations, regardless of size, with the capabilities to cope and to be competitive.
 
According to the CCT, “success in such a climate requires the ability to deal with people who think differently, act differently, even process data and respond to stimuli differently and that corporations need to work in environments where their products and services are delivered to extremely diverse customer populations”.
 
The CCT has identified the following realities that modern organizations have to contend with: “greater opportunities for expansion, change in public policy, growing global economic convergence, improved means of managing internationally, and growing competitive imperatives”. Thus, the challenge that even small organizations are faced with is this: “International growth is no longer an option, it has become a necessity”. The CCT precisely has the programs these organizations need to meet this necessity.
 
TRAINING PROGRAMS
The CCT has training programs centered on leadership development as the focal point for enhancing the competitiveness of organizations. It equips organizations with the means to nurture responsible leaders and then to build cohesive leadership teams.
Right after a series of leadership development sessions, an organization will benefit from the CCT’s team building program which fosters better relationships within the organization founded on a better understanding of each other and a better appreciation of how team work among them is a crucial element for organizational success.
 
A cohesive organization where the people trust each other and collectively support organizational goals is better able to withstand threats and challenges.
The other programs CCT offers have to do with skills building and enhancement. An example of this is its salesmanship program. Its basic premise is that “sales effectiveness is about understanding customer needs, then designing and delivering offerings that enable your customers to succeed; it is about being willing to be measured on the basis of your customers”.
 
Sales effectiveness requires customer centric thinking. The Customer Centric Corporation is singularly focused on the customer. It requires rethinking the company, its mission, and its operations in customer terms. Customer Centricity is about relentlessly designing and delivering extraordinary customer experiences.
 
Such unparalleled opportunities demand unparalleled capabilities and unparalleled actions. The leaders of today and tomorrow need a new roadmap. They need a toolkit that enables them to take risks, deal with ambiguity, touch the hearts of their colleagues and customers, and influence thinking.
