Dear Mr. Abraham!
Asslam-O-Alaikum
Thanks for your prompt responses. I graduated (M.D) from Tbilisi State Medical University, Georgia (CIS) and now planning to do the post graduation in Obs & Gyn (Ph.D). from the AIETI Medical School in the same country which is recognized by WHO and also associated with European Association of Medical Institutions. I just want to ask if the degree from this university is recognized and acceptable in UAE or not? Or is there any place from where I could visit and get the details.
Thanking you in advance
Favor appreciated in anticipation
Sajida

Do you have any idea about it please?

Your help is much appreciated.

Hi
You can register for MOH exam online but to appear for the exam you need to fly down to UAE. As far as my knowledge there is no Moh or doh exam centre in Bangalore.
you can register online for the exam through the below website

www.moh.gov.ae
go to the e-services ( right side of the website )

Hi,
Thank you for maintaining this forum which is of valuable help for people like us who are new here.
I am a doctor and I have one year 2 months experience after my internship.I have recently relocated to dubai after marriage.I went to DHA,they told me that my experience was not sufficient to sit in exam.
What I want to know is that do any of the hospitals in Dubai/Sharjah provide Locum or clinical attacments so that the candidates who have deficient experience requirements can make up for it?I asked this at DHA but was not given a clear answer.
Any help would be highly appreciated.

hey everybody!!!!
im so glad someone has asked about getting experience in UAE to write the licensing exam.
My name is Ammar Qureshi...its been a year since i completed my internship from India..
i have passed the Usmle step 1 , and have already given my usmle step 2 ck.
currently im waiting for my US visa to give the step 2 cs, but i have been rejected once.

so i need to get a job here in the meantime, but i have no experience after my internship...is there any hospital in the UAE that gives training or a job as a resident medical officer.

i had another question...i had read one of your earlier posts saying that anyone who had passed the usmle need not write the moh exam but has to sit for an interview....since i havent given the step 2 clinical skills part will i still have to write the exam?
and will i still be applicable since i have no experience?

Any help or suggestion would really great!!!!

Thanks

Thank you so much for the information Mr. Abraham..
I have scanned your previous post, you've said they require 2years experience in order to take the exam..
Is it purely hospital experience? because if not, then maybe I can take exam, I worked for a year in a hospital here and at the same time, I worked in a Clinic as a Clinic Nurse for a year and that sums up of 2years working experience.
I'm just wondering if you can share some inputs about HAAD exam, its requirements and date of exam for this year..
Again thank you and God Bless..

You need to check with the concern authority on the experience required to practice in Dubai and other emirates of UAE because the requirements by the ministry keep changing. The chances might not be updated in the MOH websites.

Criteria to sit for Dental GP exam : Last update on the MOH website
1. B.D.S.. OR Equivalent Degree Certificate.
2.One year Internship in a Teaching Hospital OR. if no internship then two years experience in a non-Teaching Hospital is equal to one-year internship.
3. Two years of Clinical experience after Internship.

If you need to begin your career in UAE then check with MOH the possibilities of internship. This is possible only if position remain vacant from non avilibility of UAE national internee. (Try to contact Rashid hospital thy used to take internees). But again i am worried that this internship will not make you eligible to sit for the licencing exam

It is not possible to practice in UAE with out the required licence if you are an expatriate. Recently Ministry of health made it clear through a circular. The circular says the professionals are not allowed to commence work even in situations where the licence application has been submitted or a licence assessment has been conducted and a pass result given. The professionals cannot work even in cases where the licence has been approved, but has not been issued.
According to Khaleej times dated Jun 3, 2010, The warning came after the authority found a number of health professionals working in the emirate without a licence. In a recent circular issued to health establishments, the authority warned of legal action against those found in violation.

Apologize for late reply.
The Ministry is clear on this, To practice legally you need a licence ."It is prohibited for doctors to practise medicine in the UAE whether in a company, a private or government health establishment without obtaining a licence from the authorities".
So a doctor must sit an exam which meets with all the requirements of the Ministry of Health or the Dubai Department of Health and Medical Services (Dohms).

Regarding medical degree from china
MOH have mentioned in their manual the educational certificates of few countries as examples, " Examples of certificates equivalent to the highest academic qualifications" but no way mentioned about any countries certificate is not valid. I will write a topic on this and will find out any educational institutions/medical boards are black listed here in UAE.

The updated MOH manual is mention the following

The Standards of Defining the Approved Experience:

  • Experience compliance with specialty.
  • Experience period.
  • Country, type and reputation of the institution where experience was acquired (As far us my knowledge most of the countries certificates are accepted and are eligible to sit for the exam)[/i]- Will clarify on this
  • Experience continuity.

You need to have required work experience and also be a registered nurse in your country.

Certificate should be attested by embassy of UAE in your country, you can do this from India.
The original academic and experience certificates issued from outside UAE must be translated into Arabic or English and attested by the official competent authorities (from the university that granted the certificate and from the UAE embassy in the university's country and from the ministry of foreign affairs in UAE). The designated officer in the evaluation section must review the said original documents and sign the copies indicating that they are true copies of the originals. The committee may exclude the condition of attesting letters of experience for essential reasons where attesting is difficult, and according to each case.
