Hi Nithya
Have a look at the HAAD'S Website- www.haad.ae

As per my knowledge there is no Arabic exam for Lab technician. Contact HAAD they will guide you for the exam with syllabus and books to refer for the exam.

Regrading the application you need to check with the hospital regarding the job contract. As you are on Husband visa switching job will not be an issue but still have a check with the labour department of Abudbahi before signing any contract.

Thank you very much Abraham for the valuable information.

Hi Abraham

I would like to know for how long is an MOH license (in orthodontics) valid until one finds a job? In other words, for how long can I stay jobless and my license would still be valid??

Your reply will be highly appreciated because nobody ever gave me a specific answer.

Hi all

This thread will help the medical job seekers in UAE
MOH/DHA(DOH)/GAHS Exams in UAE Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

All the health professionals who seek to work in UAE must appear for MOH examination and get qualified for work in UAE. Evaluation of the below categories is done in MOH Examination and separate exams conducted for the following professions.
  1. Physicians and Dentists
  2. Pharmacists and Assistants
  3. Nurses and Midwives
  4. Technicians
  5. Physicians, Practitioners and Technicians of the Complementary and Alternative
3 different Health Ministries functioning in UAE, 1)MOH which is Ministry of Health passing the MOH you are allowed to work in 5 emirates but not in Dubai or Abudhabi.2)DHA - Dubai Health Authority (previously known as DOHMS - Department of Health and Medical Services) DHA registration is required for working in Dubai. 3) GAH, which is General Authority of Health Exam or usually know as MOH/Abu Dhabi.

Syllabus
There is no particular syllabus advised for the exam, each professionals have to prepare depends on their speciality, the exam consists of written exam, Practical and Viva. You will get a multiple choice in the written exam. Successful passing of written exam leads to practical and viva and a specialist candidate must pass the viva to qualify for the practical exam.

How many times MOH Exam is conducted?
Exam is conducted twice a year

Re-sitting the MOH test
A candidate can only re-sit the exam twice. If a candidate does not pass in three attempts, he will be disqualified for any post in the Ministry or private. clinics and exempted even the MOH nonqualified candidates are working in clinics where usually the salary is law)

MOH and finding jobs in UAE
It is the responsibility of the candidates to find a job after he/she is qualified through MOH but the candidates are informed on the opportunities for work. Usually it is not that difficult to secure job after he/she pass the MOH examination

Refer the job section for health care jobs in UAE. Jobs in UAE/jobs in Dubai/Jobs in Adu dhabi

Doctors
Try searching the ministry of health website (links at the end of this post), The exam is of 2 part MCQs and if you pass with this they will call you for the interview (Viva).
The doctors can try for a job in private hospitals and apply for a medical licence while you are at work. Getting a job in private sector in the UAE is much easier, but working hours are more and pay is less. When you pass with the licence you are allowed to work in Ministry hospitals in the Emirates except Dubai and Abudhabi, these two emirates have a different licensing. The applicants can submit the application in MOH office in Dubai or Abu Dhabi. (you can find the address with phone numbers at the end of this post)

MOH exam is held in Dubai, application can either be submitted in MOH office in Dubai or in Abu Dhabi. Successful pass of MOH examinations entitled the doctors to take the job in ministry of health hospitals and reputed private hospitals. Your performance in the exam is important you will be evaluated after the exam whether you are qualified to work only in Private hospitals or both private and ministry hospital.

I will explain on the registration in Dubai and Abu Dhabi you need to pass the licensing exam of DOH or GAHS to work in work in Dubai or in Abu Dhabi national hospitals respectively. After you pass the DOH or GAHS try applying with the ministry hospitals and private hospitals. They will pass the information regarding the job openings after you qualify the MOH, DOH or the GAHS, but donít wait for this you can start trying by approaching different hospitals, itís your responsibility to find a job and successful passing of the exams will support you to get you the job.

The DHA/DOH exam is only panel interview and there is no written exam, but MOH has two parts panel interview and written exam.

A DHA/DOH allows you to work in Dubai while the MOH will qualify you to work in any other emirate besides Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Dentist
UAE government allows you to practice by yourself, for this you need to be an MDS qualified dentist with 2 years of experience. If you are BDS graduate, you can only work as an assistant to an MDS doctor. The dentists who wish to practice in Dubai must appear for DOH viva exam and for practicing in other Emirates he need to pass the MOH written and Viva. You need to carry your original attested certificates for the interview and you will get the results in 3 days time.
If you wish to work in UAE try for a sponsor who is ready to sponsor you and offer a job in any clinics and the clinic will do the necessary arrangements for your DOH/MOH exam.

You need to check with the concern authority on the experience required to practice in Dubai and other emirates of UAE because the requirements by the ministry keep changing. Usually the ministry ask for MDS with some experience to practice as a Dental General practise and MDS with 3 years for practicing as a Dental Specialist. For BDS candidates to practice as a Dental GP they need to have 5 years of experience.

I am reminding you on the attestation part again you need to attest your MDS/BDS certificates before you turn for the interview.
A s I mentioned in the Doctors section, you can try for a job before you register for MOH/DOH exam. You can contact the clinics, Hospitals directly or use your network effectively. Keep update with job section of leading newspapers and portals, you can get the details from job-hunting-support section

The DOH exam allows you to work only in Dubai

Dear Mr. Abraham,

Good day!

I am a registered midwife (2yr Diploma in Midwifery) here in the Philippines and currently working as a Nursing Attendant in a government tertiary hospital for three years.

I would like to ask
*If I would be qualified to take examination for a Registered Midwife license or Assistant Nurse License anywhere in UAE.
*Your suggestions for me to be able to take licensure exams.
*My possibilities of getting hired as a Registered Midwife or an Assistant Nurse anywhere in UAE.
*If it is better to go in UAE on visit visa then take the exam, or if I got a job offer while on visit visa will my employer arrange for the application of my license?

I would really appreciate your suggestions and opinion.

Thank you very much for your help.

Hi,

I travelled from India with knowledge that D C H of India ( PG Diploma) with 4 years experience is allowed for Registrar Pediatrics license at DOH Dubai . I believe they are not allowing PG diplomas of India any more now.

Hence my application is considered for GP license. Unfortunately, got negative result in the assessment.

I see in the DOH license information, saying that if MOH exam is passed then exempted from assessment at DOH . If i go by this information, then just wanted to know how easy is this MOH exam for GP , and how many times it is conducted. Rather I go for MOH test before taking DOH second appearance. It gives me one additional attempt.

Further, I see different kind of attestation requirements For MOH even experience letter needs to be attested, is it must AND also Ministry of foreign affairs in uAE attestaion also required for all certificates or what; which was not there for DOH.

Is there a possibility of reducing 6 month lead time for DOH second appearance.

Also heard that pass percentage is low if you apply individually; where as if you apply through any institute then the pass percentage is high? Is it true??

Appreciate replies to all. Thanks in advance.

Sir,

I am a registered nurse and I have also passed the US nclex and IELTS.

I am planning to take the DHA exam, however i have only volunteer/ training experience

because of the large number of nursing graduates in the Philippines.

I graduated last 2008, I have read from posts that if your a recent graduate your exempted from the

requirement of "2year work experience".they also said that being a new graduate means you have just

graduated within 3 years.

My question is, if this is correct, if it is true as a 2008 graduate am I still eligible to be exempted from that

requirement? and if its not true, do they consider volunteer/training, its basically the same as a staff nurse

except were not paid/exploited.

and my next question is since I passed the NCLEX and IELTS is there a chance that i could be exempted

from the DHA viva exam, even if I'm a Philippine graduate.

Hii nusheen, sorry for late reply.actually hospitals do ask u to submit ur application n documnts for attachmnt, but later usually they tell u,we have no more seats, emiratis r prefered ,but in my opinion u must drop ur documnts there.n nxt drtp...they have considerably increased the fees, its about 3000 AED in total including sum documnt verification by them n seats r sooo limited in medicine, surgery, gynae.previously it was vry easy but now more emiratis are there to compete wth.one of my frnd is trying for the last 2 yrs,in medicine, drtp.but u do try, inshallah u'll get lucky,
