second interviews
by bird » Thursday, 20th August 2009 09:14 pm
Hi,
I would be grateful for some clarity on second interviews.
1. When does the UAE health authority request a second interview with a panel of experts in the concerned speciality, for the position of a "specialist" doctor?
2. Is this a formality and does a successful interview guarantee a license to practice from the authority?
Thanks

Hi bird
1.The moh usualy call you for panel interview " This would be held as soon as possible after written exam results are announced. (Usually within a week)." You need to check directly with the MOH authorities for the the shedule for your panel interview. You can find the contact details at the end of this post. As per my knowledge, the following things I can recommend about the panel interview
2.Your practice in UAE depends on the recommendations from the MOH evaluation committee
Only those passing written examination would be called for interview and practical examination in their field of specialty.(Doh has only panel interview for many specialties)
MOH Panel Interview
Candidates who successfully pass the written examination would be called for interview in their field of specialty. An examination board consisting of professionals from different specialties conducts the interviews. As per needs and requirements, the examination board may invite professionals from the private sector to assist in conducting the interviews.
Successful candidates who have passed both written and oral/practical examinations would then be awarded the license to practice in their field of specialty.
The outcome of MOH panel interview
Ranking:
Upon the recommendation of the examination committee, the evaluation committee grants one of the following options according to the qualifications, experiences and results of written and oral examinations:
a. Allowed to work in a medical center
b. Allowed to work independently
c. Allowed to work under supervision in the same specialty
Changing the practical field from “working under supervision” or “working in a medical center” into “working independently “the following requirements should exist:
Evidence of work experience in a licensed medical center, for a period not less than one year or as defined by the committee upon evaluation.
Passing the interview or any exams specified by the committee.
Adhering to all forthcoming conditions and instructions.
As published by the MOH Authorities
