The current economic climate has led to more caution amongst employers within the UAE when making recruitment decisions and the vast majority of organisations are viewing expansion plans, departmental changes and role replacements more strategically than ever before. Evidence of organisations changing their lending strategy, products and services and market flexibility to be inline with what they describe as a 'safe hold' for the coming months has also become apparent. This forms of protection is designed to ensure that organisations act within the best interests of their investors, board members and employees.
Despite the obvious challenges, the Middle East still remains a sought after location to work. This is in part due to a growing demand to secure a position within the Gulf Cooperation Council (of which the UAE is part).
