Gulf Air staff will stop working and stand up for three minutes today in protest., Gulf Daily News Reported
The move is being spearheaded by the Gulf Air Trade Union (GATU), which is demanding better working hours and fair treatment of staff with regards to salary, recruitment and termination.
The union represents 1,400 employees out of 5,000 employed by Gulf Air.
GATU spokesman Sadiq Rabe'e said that they all plan to stand up for three minutes starting from 10am to draw attention to their demands.
Company staff would express their protest with a unique movement.
Mr Rabe'e said that the union might take bigger steps if the company does not resolve the matter.
"The excuse that the company is in an unstable condition is not true, especially since many managers' salaries have been raised," he said.
"The company is also spending BD500,000 for things that don't affect productivity."...
